1. What are Humic
and Fulvic exactly?

In a nutshell, Humic/Fulvic extracts are a concentrated
blend of all the minerals and trace elements found in an immense array of
organic plants. But, these extracts should never be confused
with a simple juice extraction. They go far beyond the
juiced form of phytonutrients.
The source of Humic/Fulvic is pure, whole food, living, fruits,
vegetables, and plant matter that has been buried, compressed, and highly
concentrated. Through natural biological
activity, these active, living, plant nutrients have been converted into a
highly concentrated ionic substance known as Humic. This Humic source material was
buried millions of years ago, during extreme geological events, and was
preserved in its living, pristine form, where it has been untouched and
unaffected by pollution, chemicals, pesticides, or fertilizers to this
day.
Scientists are still puzzling their way through
the intricate structure of Fulvic; finding that each new experiment reveals

What is a free
radical? They have to do with atoms. All atoms have a ring
around them composed of many electrons. Each electron ideally has a
“buddy”, making the atom very stable. Free radicals are
created when an electron loses its buddy and is no longer in a pair.
This opens the door to a chemical reaction whereby the unpaired electron seeks
out another atom or molecule to bond with, creating a chain reaction of
oxidation.
Normally a healthy body can keep this
process in check, but if there is an excess of free radicals, created from

4. How are Vital Earth's minerals
extracted and processed?
|
At the end of a very lengthy,
proprietary extraction procedure, using nothing but cold, double reverse
osmosis, non-chlorinated, magnetically purified water, 80% of the nutrients
from the original humic source, which includes a high concentration of fulvic,
become suspended in solution in a large vat.
This "suspended" mineral-rich fulvic
solution is then siphoned off the top of the vat, it continues through another
series of filtering stages, further isolating the fulvic through each stage,
and then, the final product is at last bottled in its purest form.
What are customers are getting is “100% fulvic in solution”,
carefully extracted from the rich humic source material.
The dregs in the bottom of the vat still
contain a few nutrients. Because this is fantastic for plants, we
give ours to farmers to put on their fields. Unfortunately, some
manufacturers sell this byproduct to consumers, calling it a
“concentrate”. (We think it's kind of like selling

Another way to get a concentrate is to

is the main difference between Humic and Fulvic?

There is a
stark difference in Humic/Fulvic products and knowing that difference is important to getting

minerals are NOT acidic like so many others on the market. We do not
use any chemicals, high heat, or pressure extrusion. Our Humic/Fulvic

How Humic minerals are handled
during the extraction process is crucial. Some manufacturers
use harsh, toxic chemicals to rush the process, to turn out more product in
less time… but this unfortunately destroys the precious Humic and Fulvic, the

7. How can I identify and avoid
acidic minerals?
|
The right questions to
ask:
The taste of a product can tell you whether it
has been processed with harsh chemicals, because they leave
an unhealthy residue in the finished product. Some manufacturers then
add flavorings and sweeteners to cover up the terrible taste of the chemicals
in an attempt to make it palatable enough to sell. Not only are you
ingesting chemical residues, but these chemicals kill the fulvic.
Fulvic that has been processed using a gentle
filtering method will have almost no taste and will not require any flavoring
or sweetening to be palatable. Even our darkest colored product, Humic Minerals,
is virtually tasteless!
A high mineral count is another red
flag. Why? Because the benefit of fulvic minerals is
that the minerals have been complexed and dissolved into the fulvic structure, not separated from
it.
Taking the minerals out of the fulvic destroys the benefits that
“whole food, plant derived” minerals offer. You want the minerals to be naturally
retained within the fulvic not removed
from it.

Many people
will take Fulvic, and as their cells begin receiving the extra nutritional
boost, changes will occur naturally in their body that promote more energy,
mental clarity, better sleep and more. Once this happens they go
about life and forget how they felt previously unless there is some reference

9. Are there any side
effects with Humic/Fulvic?
When taken as directed, there are
no known negative side effects or toxic build up. On the
contrary, fulvic helps neutralize or remove toxic elements from the body.
Occasionally, if a customer has an excessive amount of toxic build up, they may
experience flu like symptoms for a few days while the toxins are being removed
from the body. If this happens, we suggest you cut your dosage of
minerals down to a level that eliminates the symptoms, then build back up to
the suggested dosage slowly.

10. Fulvic, thyroid
function, and detoxing
Fulvic is a natural water soluble
substance of plant origin. It contains many healing phytochemicals
and enzymes which readily disperse throughout the body, even to the interior of
cells. Clinical medical school and hospital studies show that
specially prepared Fulvic extracts regulate abnormal thyroid hormone secretion
as a result of their ability to regulate RNA and DNA (cyclic nucleotides) at
the cellular level. Similar studies also show that fulvic acts as
an immunomodulator, regulating immune system function.
Fulvic provides natural
chelation
Humic extracts, especially Fulvics,
provide a natural chelatin therapy. They detoxify the body, the
liver, and the digestive tract, by attaching to toxic buildup, including heavy
metals, chlorination byproducts, etc., where they disarm, neutralize, and
remove them as waste products. Fulvic also works as nature's most powerful
antioxidants, neutralizing dangerous free radicals, as well as supplying
hormone stimulating micronutrients. Outpatient medical hospital
studies on thyroid tumors, using Fulvic, show a 90% success rate, with 80%

The underactive thyroid gland
requires sufficient organic iodine to function properly. Organic

11. Why Humic/Fulvic is better than
colloidals
|
Vital Earth's liquid
minerals are organic, ionic, and plant derived. They are
smaller in size and more absorbable than colloidals.
The size of a
colloidal is 1 micron. Humic/Fulvic is so much smaller it is measured
in Angstrom. An Angstrom is a measurement of very small things such
as light beams, atoms, and molecules. 1/10,000 of a micron = 1
angstrom. This means that Humic/Fulvic is 10,000 times smaller than
colloidal minerals.
With their large
size colloidals are too large to pass through cell membranes
and therefore offer very little health benefit. Ionic,
angstrom minerals can pass directly through cell membranes on
contact. They are literally absorbed directly into cells
without the need for any digestive process.
Ionic minerals offer
incredible benefits, but the benefits of colloidal minerals are marginal at
best. There are no colloidal minerals in any of our mineral
products.

12. Why taking the correct
"form" of a mineral is so essential
The minerals in Vital Earth’s
fulvic are in an organic, plant derived "form". This means once they
enter the body the proper metabolic responses occur that allow them to be
utilized where they’re needed. Organic minerals cannot be retained in the
tissues as toxins like metallic or clay based minerals can.
Have you ever heard of anyone
getting metal toxicity from vegetables? No, it’s because the minerals
are in a “plant derived” form – they have been converted into a form that is
edible by humans as nature intended. Fulvic facilitates this change
of form. We eat these plants and benefit from the mineral content,
but don’t get toxic mineral/metal build up from this
source. Plants are the source of the fulvic in Fulvic Mineral

What about all those minerals that we’re told we should avoid,
such as lead, arsenic, mercury and more?
Plants commonly
contain all these. The difference is that they’re in a plant derived
form – they are organic minerals. They will not build up in the body
tissues, as do metallic and clay based minerals.
When presented as organic fulvic
complexes, cells have the ability to accept or reject minerals, including
aluminum, lead, arsenic, mercury, etc., at their
discretion. Because people have been so conditioned that
all these minerals are bad under any circumstance, may people don’t realize
that these minerals may not necessarily be present to “nourish” cells, but are
needed to act as “electrodes” in the fulvic electrolyte solution.
They are absolutely crucial in
facilitating bio-reactions, electron transfer, catalytic reactions and
transmutations. In other words, they may not necessarily be directly
used by the body…but are just “enabling” chemical reactions; the same way
baking powder causes a cake to rise when liquid is added to the
batter. You don’t add the baking powder for any reason other than to
trigger the rising action.
It is obvious that when metals,
minerals and trace elements become complexed into fulvic, they take on an
entirely new property of availability, unlike their original form. It is when
fulvic is not present that one should seriously worry about toxic buildup from
any source.

13. Why Vital Earth's Humic/Fulvic
is not sweetened or flavored
|
Because of our
processing methods, all our Humic and Fulvic is naturally very mild
tasting and requires so sweetening or flavoring.
Products that have
been processed using harmful chemical acids to achieve a more
"concentrated" mineral potency usually require sweeteners and
flavorings to mask these unhealthy chemicals. Also, these chemicals kill off
fulvic which is the most beneficial part of a mineral
product.
Our product is all natural and we
do not add anything or manipulate the original humic substance in any way. All
the amino acids are naturally occurring. There are no sweeteners, flavorings,
or preservatives in the formula. We do not use any chemicals, heat or pressure
extrusion in our extraction process. Our product is extracted using only
purified, cool, non-chlorinated water, which accounts for its naturally mild
taste.

14. How long will I have to keep
taking Humic and Fulvic?
|
That all depends on
whether you continue eating nutrient deficient foods containing
chemicals, preservatives and dyes, hydrogenated oils, refined sugar, drink
chlorinated water, are exposed to pollutants and dangerous chemicals,
consume caffeine, alcohol, drink carbonated beverages, or
smoke.
The sad reality is

is try to eliminate or reduce as many of them as you can, and counteract their

15. Is Humic and Fulvic safe for
children too?
|
Absolutely!
It’s wonderful for children. Our 2 liquid minerals Fulvic Mineral
Complex, and Fulvic-Humic Blend have virtually no taste at all so kids
usually have no objection to the taste. (Humic
Minerals have a very strong "earthy" taste that kids
probably won't tolerate).

18. Can I get too many minerals?
|
Many people
wonder if they will be getting “too many minerals” if they are consuming other
products that also contain minerals…such as a high dose calcium
supplement. The answer is no because Vital Earth’s Humic/Fulvic is
extracted from plant material – not rocks or clay. When plant derived
Humici/Fulvic enter the system, it is immediately recognized as one of nature’s
essential substances. It triggers the proper metabolic responses that
utilize the minerals where they’re needed, discarding those that are not
needed. It is impossible for plant derived minerals to build up in
the tissues.

19. How Humic is created in nature
In nature, Fulvic is created by microbial activity at
the roots of plants. Its function is to dissolve, and convert the metallic and
clay based mineral molecules that are in soils, into a form that is usable by
plants, animals and people. Plants cannot uptake minerals
into their root system until the minerals have been converted, by Fulvic, into
an organic form.
Once the minerals are converted (dissolved), plants uptake the
powerful Fulvic substance that is loaded with dissolved minerals and
trace elements, into their root system, and become saturated with health giving
Fulvic.
When the fulvic microorganisms in soil are destroyed, plants are
not able to take the undissolved metallic and clay minerals into their root
systems. The minerals remain in their original inorganic
form in the soil, unusable by plants, causing the plants to become mineral
deficient.
To complicate matters, the mineral content of our soils is
extremely low right now. Farm lands have been overused and minerals are not
being replaced the way nature intended. What is being found
is that many traditionally raised (non-organic) fruits and vegetables
contain high levels of unhealthy chemical fertilizers and low levels of healthy
minerals.
Our fruits and
vegetables may be large, uniform and beautiful, but testing shows the nutrient
content is lower than in years past. Foods with high fulvic content
are very difficult to obtain, making it essential that we supplement our diets
with this essential
substance.

20. What
about less expensive mineral "concentrates
|
Beware of fulvic concentrates where you add water to make several
bottles of fulvic from one tiny bottle of “fulvic
concentrate”. We liken those concentrates to "selling
a used tea
bag".
Here's a
simple analogy. When you make a cup of tea, the first steeping is
where you get your best cup of tea, right? If you re-use
that tea bag, all the good flavor has already been extracted...but
what if you found that extreme high heat and the use of some harsh chemicals
could synthetically force out anything still remaining in the
used tea leaves?
With this sub-standard
processing, organic fulvic is destroyed.
But now you have a concentrate...it's highly acidic, contains
virtually no living fulvic, has dangerous chemical residues, and now must be
flavored and sweetened to cover all this up - and it's ready to sell to
unknowing consumers. The price is right, and if you don't
know what a difference all natural processing makes, then these concentrates
appear to be a very "good deal".
Another way to get a concentrate is to dehydrate a fulvic
solution…which entails high heat processing. High heat kills fulvic,
just as it does other natural substances. The only value to be
obtained from the product is from whatever minimal amount of fulvic that may
have survived the high heat dehydration process. Not very good
odds…
At Vital Earth we do not use any
chemicals, high heat, or pressure extrusion. Our fulvic is as natural
as you can get and it has an alkaline pH.
Alkaline fulvic in its natural, undamaged form offers
incredible benefits to the body; whereas acidic products containing chemical
residues, low fulvic content (because the fulvic has been
killed during the processing) offer little to no benefit at
all. We don’t sell concentrates (and probably
never will).

21. How
Humic/Fulvic detoxifies chlorine by-products from the body
One of the most
beneficial characteristics of Humic and Fulvic is that they are
both powerful detoxifiers and have the ability to remove dangerous
toxins from the body, including chlorine by-products and more. Humic/Fulvic
forms complexes with toxins, heavy metals, viruses and other immune system
threats, inhibiting absorption and promoting elimination from the body.
So if you are actively reducing your exposure to chlorine
as much as possible, Fulvic Mineral Complex Fulvic-Humic Blend, and Humic
Minerals all provide an excellent way to flush out toxins.
Eliminating chlorine
totally is difficult because it's everywhere. When you eat out, vegetables have
been rinsed in it, iced tea was made with it, silverware was washed in it. All
you can do is try to minimize your exposure the best you can, and do your best
to choose products, and cleaning supplies, etc. that don't contain it. Many
people use filters on their faucets and shower heads to eliminate exposure to
chlorine. Every little bit will help. Fortunately, chlorine does dissipate over
time, but avoiding direct exposure as much as possible is still

Rebuilding and detoxing symptoms
|
Humic/Fulvic helps neutralize or remove toxic elements from the
body. It provides a natural Chelation therapy by attaching to toxins, including
heavy metals, chlorination by-products, and chemicals, and then it either
neutralizes them, or flushes them from the system.
Occasionally, if a
customer has an excessive amount of toxic build up, they may experience flu
like symptoms for a few days while toxins are being removed from the body.
Symptoms may include headache, body ache, and lethargy. Even though you may not
be feeling so great, detoxifying is actually a good thing because you’re

If this happens, we
suggest you cut your dosage of minerals down to a level that eliminates the

1. Does Fulvic leach
toxins out of plastic bottles?
|
We have encountered some misinformation that we think
consumers should be aware of. The word on the Internet is
that liquid supplements bottled in plastics are absorbing the toxins from the
plastic, and these toxins are then being ingested by unknowing consumers. This
is simply false, inaccurate, irresponsible, and clearly uninformed.
And here's why in a
nutshell:
Dangerous and harmful plastic containers are made of
polycarbonate, or polyvinyl chloride, and contain an additive called Bisphenol
A (BPA). But not all plastics
contain BPA. There is another class
of plastic, used specifically for consumables, which are made of entirely
different components, all of which are non-toxic. This non-toxic type
of plastic is called HDPE. You can be certain that no
toxins will ever be leached from these types of bottles because no toxic
materials are contained in their composition.
HDPE is the type of
bottles used for all Vital Earth's liquid supplements, as well as 90% of all
health food store products. This is not new. Reputable manufacturers have been
protecting consumers against harmful BPA for years now. To repeat, there is no
BPA in our bottles. If any other manufacturer disputes this information, please
ask them to show you the specific scientific studies that show Bisphenol-A,
polycarbonate, or polyvinyl chloride is in HDPE bottles. To tell
consumers that all plastics are alike is irresponsible. This
mis-information either comes from being mis-informed or there is an ulterior
motive based on using fear to sell their products when they don't have any
other marketable benefits.
Please read our

use". And don't forget about your pets! Many chew toys
are made from plastics that contain BPA.

2. Can I take Vital Earth
products while on prescriptions?
|
Yes,
but don't take them at the same time. Please allow at least 2 hours
between taking your supplements and your medications. This will allow
your body to assimilate each independently.

3. What do you mean by the term
"pH?
Body acidity and pH
PH is how acidity and alkalinity are measured. The
scale ranges from 14.0 pH, which is top of the alkaline scale, down to 7.0 pH
being neutral, and on down the scale with 0.0 pH being the bottom of the acidic
side of the scale.
Over acidity in the body makes you susceptible to many diseases,
and weakens all the systems of the body. It is a condition that many
people find difficult to control, so the last thing they want is a product that
contributes toward that unhealthy condition.
There are many
liquid minerals on the market today that are highly acidic, with an acid pH in
the range of 2.0 pH to 4.0 pH, because of their processing
techniques. Also, when chemicals are used unhealthy toxic chemical
residues remain in the product and are ingested. The end product must
be flavored and sweetened to mask the vile taste.

4. There's a problem with our food
supply, and here's why?

It’s kind of a vicious
circle. The key to vibrantly healthy fruit and vegetable plants, with high
vitamin and mineral content, all depends on minerals. Plants need minerals to
really thrive. Most people don’t realize that mineral deficient soil ultimately
creates both vitamin and mineral deficient plants.
Here’s how it all works (or
should we say...doesn’t work)
The minerals found naturally
in soils essentially come from rock, and therefore are in a metallic and clay
based form. But it is impossible for plants to absorb metallic/clay minerals
... this is where humic comes into the picture. Living humic microorganisms in
soil break down these metallic and clay minerals into an organic form that
plants can uptake into their root systems. As a side note, this is why minerals
that are perceived as being terribly dangerous, such as arsenic or mercury, are
actually completely safe, and beneficial, when injested in plant form. The
"metallic form" minerals have been converted to an organic form by
humic microorganisms.
Once absorbed into the plant,
this abundance of life giving minerals, fuels the production of vitamins,
creating vigorously healthy produce.
The whole vital natural
process has fallen apart due to man’s interference.
Forced crop production depletes minerals in soil, and chemicals
and pesticides destroy humic microorganisms. So, with both gone, there’s not
much chance for our plants to be packed with nutrition!
Healthy looking, but
internally sickly plants can’t possibly produce the quality of nutrients needed
for humans to maintain good health year after year. Even farm animals are
grossly deficient because humic is lacking in their diet as well.
It’s a complex, essential
natural process that’s been derailed by mass production farming practices;
creating a serious deficiency in both vitamins and minerals in the produce
we’re eating.

5. Why you can't get everything you need
from your food
|
Myth: "I can get everything I need from
my food"
This was true
years ago when our food was less processed and contained higher levels of vitamins,
minerals and nutrients needed to sustain a healthy body. But today, in America’s
grocery stores, over 70% of the food is genetically modified, and 90% is
processed.
Farmers use
chemical pesticides and artificial fertilizers which kill
micronutrients in the soil, preventing plants from up-taking health giving
minerals into their root systems.
Packaged foods
contain an array of stabilizers, emulsifiers, texturizers, smoothing agents,
colorings, preservatives, and artificial flavorings. High heat, and high
pressure processes are used that are so damaging that they alter the
composition of the food, destroying nutrients, and making it unrecognizable as
a food by the body. As if that’s not enough there’s MSG, high fructose corn
syrup, hyrodgenated oils, and a multitude of unpronouncable chemicals in almost
everything. Even our farm animals are fed unnatural diets that alter the
essential fatty acid ratios of the meat. They are given antibiotics, artificial
growth hormones, and colorings and chemicals are injected into the meat to
improve marketability.
With these unnatural modifications to
our food supply it’s easy to understand why we are becoming a disease ridden
nation, and why it is now necessary to take charge of our own health.

6. A lesson on free radicals
|
What is a free
radical? They have to do with atoms. All atoms have a ring
around them composed of many electrons. Each electron ideally has a
"buddy", making the atom very stable.
Free radicals
are created when an electron loses its buddy and is no longer in a pair. This opens the
door to a chemical reaction whereby the unpaired electron seeks out another
atom or molecule to bond with, creating a chain reaction of
oxidation.
Normally a healthy body can keep this process in check, but if
there is an excess of free radicals, created from eating a diet high in
vegetable oils, for example, damage to cells and tissue can occur.
These free radicals circulate throughout the body, injuring tissue and making
cells susceptible to infections, diseases, or worst of all, cancer causing
mutations.
That’s where free radical "scavengers" come in; they neutralize harmful
free radicals, and Fulvic is one of the most powerful free radical scavengers
known to science.
When Fulvic encounters free radicals with unpaired electrons,
(electrons without a “buddy”), it supplies that missing electron “buddy”, and
creates a stable atom, therefore neutralizing the free radical. By
bonding to these free radicals, fulvic transforms them into organic, usable
substances, or if the cell is too damaged, it is flushed out of the body.

7. Do the liquids need to be
refrigerated?
|
It is only
necessary to refrigerate the liquids once they have been opened. Like any
natural food, they will retain more of the nutrient content if they are
refrigerated once they are exposed to air. After many months, if a bottle has
been “forgotten” at the back of the refrigerator for example, there is no
danger of the product “spoiling”, but instead some of the more delicate natural
substances may start losing nutritional potency … but remember the products
started out at higher potencies than most other products on the
market.

8. Why is it so important to combine
nutrients together...and so ineffective to take individual supplements?
Vitamins and
minerals all have a co-dependent relationship with each other, meaning, all
nutrients are dependent on the presence of other nutrients to create the
essential reactions within the body that make them useable. Isolated nutrients
just pass right through the body unused without the presence of their required
co-factors. That’s why supplying one or two specific single nutrients, such as
Calcium for example, to correct a deficiency, is not enough. Each nutrient must
have all the required co-factor nutrients to react off of in order to work.
Plus, an excess of one nutrient can create imbalances in others, so providing
the proper ratios are also important.
For an untrained lay
person to figure out all the individual vitamins and minerals needed to enable
proper co-factor metabolic reactions, a huge amount of in-depth scientific

10. Can I mix all the liquids
together?
|
Absolutely! In fact that’s the most convenient way to take
them. Pour all the liquids together in a pitcher, stir, and pour this combined
mixture back into the bottles. Then, for your daily dosage, take one capful for
each bottle you mixed together.
Example: if you mixed Fulvic Mineral
Complex, Super Multi, and Gluco Matrix, you would simply take 3 capfuls from
one of the "mixed up" bottles.

11. How and when should I take the
products to get the most benefit?
When to take the products:
Method 1: Take with
food
We recommend you take all Vital Earth products with food;
either right before, immediately after, or during a meal. This serves several
purposes:

Absorption of the supplement ingredients is
enhanced by the enzymes the body naturally creates for digesting and
assimilating food.

If your body isn’t producing adequate digestive
enzymes, the Fulvic in all Vital Earth products will help boost that crucial
enzyme activity... helping to self-correct digestive
issues.

Since Fulvic enhances the absorption and
utilization of all nutrients it comes in contact with, you will be getting
maximum benefits from the nutrients in your food when fulvic is
present.

And, most important of all...fulvic helps flush
out any unbeneficial ingredients/toxins (chemical preservatives, additives,
colorings, etc.) that may be in the food. That’s pretty important with today’s
over-processed
foods!
Method 2: Sip your dosage all day
long
You can also pour any
of our liquids into a water bottle and sip them throughout the day. This way
you’re feeding your body small doses all day long. This is excellent for absorption
also.
Can I take the
supplements on an empty stomach?
It’s not the best way to do it, but yes you
can. Non-breakfast eaters always ask us this! Most people can take all the
products on an empty stomach with no burning or upset because Fulvic triggers
enzyme/digestive activity. Also, there are no binders, fillers, or additives,
which are what generally cause stomach
upset.
What about taking them just before
going to bed?
Taking Cal Mag Liquid or Capsules before bedtime
will actually help you sleep better. Most people report that the formulas don’t
interfere with sleep...but we have had the occasional customer tell us they are
too "energized" to sleep if they take Super Multi close to bedtime.
So, you may have to experiment and see what works best for you
individually.

10. How does Super Multi stack up
against the competition?

We
analyzed numerous retail liquid multi vitamin products to see where Super Multi
ranked regarding the following

Coloring, fillers and binders, etc.
We didn’t find a single formula that contained the
wide and varied combination of highly beneficial characteristics found in Super
Multi. A lot were very mediocre (and expensive!), a couple came
close, quite a few were really bad, and some made us downright mad! In
many we found a variety of unacceptable preservatives, and added
colorings.

Blatant
deception
The infuriating products were the ones that used
blatant deception. These products touted powerful benefits on the
marketing part of their labels, (the front and side panels), but ultimately,
what we found were lousy contents and labeling tactics that were unquestionably
deceitful.
For example, one product used the word “Organic” in their product
name. This does NOT mean the product is organic…but how many people
would know this, when it’s written so boldly. Their label also stated
“made with organic ingredients”, but we noted that about 90% of the items on
their supplement facts label were clearly not organic. Of
course, they didn’t say “all” organic ingredients, but it is still
misleading. We wondered if the average
consumer would catch this.
We found several combination multi vitamin
formulas where an extremely small amount of a fruit/vegetable/greens blend
(some as low as 25 to 50 mg) was included in the formula so it could be
marketed as “Whole food based blend of essential vitamins”, and
“Vegetarian”.
First of all a good quality
fruit/vegetable/greens blend would be in potencies of at least 500 mg to 1000
mg. With 25mg to 50mg it’s like giving someone a teaspoon
of broccoli and telling them they’re getting their vegetables for the
day!
The nutrients on the FDA required “Supplement Facts” portion of
the product label for this "Whole Food Blend"
product were not whole food based or strictly vegetarian at all. We
quickly surmised that the fruit/veggies/greens blend statement on the front of
the bottle was nothing more than a marketing gimmick to enable them to use the
words people were looking for, as opposed to providing them with a quality
product that actually worked. The actual “measured”, individual
vitamins were all in varying degrees of potencies ranging from low to
worthless. (And by the way, it tasted really
bad!)
Probably our worst discovery was the use of
artificial sweeteners in a couple heavily advertised liquid vitamin
formulas. These companies have huge marketing
budgets and are hitting every magazine and web site out there promoting their
products as a wonderful solution for the whole family – even kids.
Now that’s just sad. Unwary and trusting
consumers are putting their faith in these products hoping to improve their
health…when in reality the damage from that one ingredient alone is
staggering.
Vital Earth is a small owner run company, and the one thing we
have always strived to do is make the very best products possible.
And another thing about us is that we always “tell it like it
is”. If we put it in our bottle, we list it on the
label. We don’t exaggerate, or use deceptive phrases
because it is not our intention to trick you into buying 1 bottle, find it
